Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long are classes and sessions?
    Classes are typically 2 hours long, but are subject to change depending on students’ learning pace and need for assistance. Sessions are made up of 10-12 meetings, with classes occurring biweekly.
  • What is the student-teacher ratio?
    Teachers are paired up with 5-7 students each to encourage more student-teacher interactions.
  • If my child needs more attention, where can they get it?
    Office hours are strongly encouraged and are usually held before the class meeting for roughly an hour. Students are welcome to come and go as their questions are answered.
  • What do teachers use to communicate with students?
    Teachers will meet with students on Zoom or Google Meet. Additionally, they may communicate with students through Google Classroom or the official Discord server.
  • What equipment do students need to participate?
    We recommend students come equipped with a working computer. Students may use any environment to program, but we recommend Visual Studio Code or Replit. That’s all!
  • Will students be assigned homework?
    Yes, teachers assign assignments after every class that take anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Additionally, teachers hold in-class quizzes and projects.
  • How much does it cost to attend the program?
    Nothing! Our classes are 100% free!
